Dear Parents, Thank you for your inquiry into Day Camp In The Park - "A Camper’s Paradise". Our summer day camp is located in New York on a magnificent 500+ acre nature preserve, complete with nature trails and our own three mile pristine Lake Tiorati for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, water biking and fishing. We also have a complete sports activity program including tennis, softball, basketball, soccer, football, dodgeball, kickball, and hockey. We even have our own Skateboarding Park! In addition, we have a creative, well-rounded program including Drama/Improvisation, an Nature Adventure program, Arts & Crafts, Ceramics & Pottery, Nature Crafts, Karate, Climbing Wall, and our own Waterpark complete with a water climbing wall and slide and water trampoline. Swim instruction is provided every morning by certified Red Cross Swim Instructors. Children swim in our heated pool and majestic lake. Besides our regular camp there are many special programs. Our Nursery Program is for our four and five year olds. There is one counselor per two children in this program. The C.I.T. Program (9th and 10th graders) is geared for the young adults who like to play and want to work in a camp in the future. Furthermore, we offer a Mini-Travel Program for children between the ages of ten and fifteen. This program will include a weekly day trip for six weeks. Some of our prior trips were the following: Mountain Creek Water Park, Medieval Times, Orange County Fair, Rye Playland, Sports World, Yankee Stadium, and Citifield. In addition to these wonderful experiences we have created a unique program called "Sleep Under the Stars" for children (between the ages of 9 and 13) who want to truly experience overnights in the great outdoors! Our superior facility (over 25 indoor cabins, gym, cafeteria), creative program (special events daily), talented and mature staff, and competitive price (including door to door transportation) make DCITP very attractive. A hot lunch program is available at a small fee. I look forward to your questions and meeting your child and welcoming you to the DCITP family. Sincerely, Summer camp rockland Ken Glotzer Director since our inception in 1979
